• Blaze held to less than an acre

A small fire in eastern Idaho in the Indian Creek area near Palisades Reservoir was quickly contained by firefighters last week. Lincoln County Dispatch said the fire was reported by a passing motorist at roughly 3:30 p.m. Friday, September 6. Bonneville County was notified and the Alpine Fire Department was dispatched to the sent to assist.

“It was a small fire about eight miles up,” said Alpine Fire Chief Mike Vogt. “A crew from Blackfoot arrived and made plans for a crew to get dropped in the morning. They arrived in the morning and dropped in five members.”

Chief Vogt said the fire was held to just half an acre and was fully contained by the next day.
